I Alejandra Lundéns konstnärliga verksamhet har dokumentation en viktig roll som bottnar i hennes intresse för förhållandet mellan fantasi och verklighet och hur den relationen förändras beroende på sammanhang och kontext. På olika sätt och från olika perspektiv undersöker konstnären konstruktionen av verklighet. Speciellt intressanta är frågor som rör relationen mellan individen och kollektivet, mellan det privata och det offentliga, det goda och det onda, sagan/myten och verkligheten samt användning av dokumentation och historia i legitimiseringen av mänskliga handlingar. Alejandra Lundén har för www.solo-show.com skapat verket EXCALIBUR, en minutanimation som berättar om en nutidshistoria som involverar fyra länder, Sverige, USA, Irak och Afghanistan.
EXCALIBUR skildrar en bråkdel av den kalla verkligheten om produktion, handel och användning av 155mm artilleriprojektilen Excalibur. Excalibur är klassad som en smart projektil och utvecklades i ett samarbete mellan bolaget BAE Systems AB (tidigare Bofors) och det amerikanska bolaget Raytheon Missile Systems. Sverige har bidragit med 650 miljoner kronor i svenska skattemedel till utvecklingen av Excalibur som framförallt har sålts till amerikanska krigsmakten, vilken har använt vapnet först i Irak och senare i Afghanistan. Även trupper från Kanada har använt Excalibur i Afghanistan. Verket EXCALIBUR gestaltas med samma kyliga distans med vilken vapnet presenteras i tillverkarnas försäljningsmaterial.

Documentation has an important role in Alejandra Lundén’s artistic activity. Rooted in her interest in the relationship between imagination and reality, and how this relationship changes depending on context. The artist investigates the construction of reality in different ways and from different perspectives. Especially interesting are the issues concerning the relationship between the individual and the collective, between the private and the public, good and evil, the story / myth and reality and the use of documentation and history in the legitimization of human actions. Alejandra Lundén's work Excalibur for www.solo-show.com is a one-minute animation, which talks about a recent history involving the four countries Sweden, USA, Iraq and Afghanistan. Excalibur depicts a fraction of the cold reality of production, trade and use of the 155mm artillery projectile Excalibur. Excalibur is classified as a smart projectile and developed in collaboration between the company BAE Systems (formerly Bofors) and the U.S. company Raytheon Missile Systems. Sweden has contributed with 650 million kronor in Swedish tax money to the Development of Excalibur, which primarily has been sold to U.S. armed forces, which have used the weapon first in Iraq and later in Afghanistan. Canadian troops have also been using Excalibur in Afghanistan. The work Excalibur is using the same cold aesthetics by which the weapon is presented in the manufacturers' sales materials.
